In to the void…

Goes all my STUFF.

That’s right, 80 slots worth of STUFF neatly tucked aside in the nether with the release of patch 4.3.

FYI – suddenly everything has durability and it’s all BROKEN.

Of course, you can’t place anything broken in void storage… I wasn’t sure what was up with the farm of Jeeves around the storage guy, but it was pretty easy to figure out once I started trying to unload everything in there.

Other restrictions: item cannot be “unique,” although “unique-equip” is fine, all your gems/enchants will be stripped, and the item must be soulbound.

Oh, and be ready for a crowd.

Excuse me, coming through, pardon me, sorry about your tail

It got real fun when everyone started dropping AoE.

The price isn’t so bad, just 100g to unlock and it appears that every item I put in was 25g. I haven’t tried taking anything out yet. I’ll luxuriate in having a few free bank slots for a while first.

The guild is doing some moving and shaking.

Rules are being set down for what appears to be the first time and there is some rumbling.

The rules are pretty straightforward things like, “quit treating each other like shit during raids” and “spread the loot around” or “show up to raid on a regular basis if you want to be a raider.”

We’ll see how it goes. There is a contingency plan to break in to 10-mans and I would be lying if I said that idea didn’t appeal to me at least a little bit.

Not sure about the new raid yet since I didn’t go last night. With the holiday we were lacking a couple people and dropped to a 10.

Somehow I ended up in a guild with a plethora of healers. Between the holy priest and the shadow priest, there really wasn’t room for a disc priest for buffs and the holy pally had the tank handled with the raid under the wing (or branch?) of the resto druid.

But I did listen in.

Pro-tip: When the holy priest says, “There’s a lightwell there if you want to use it,” it means, “USE THE DAMNED LIGHTWELL YOU INSUFFERABLE FOOLS!” She’s just too nice to put it like that.

They took out the first boss in one shot. Second boss took a couple attempts. Third boss was a one shot. And then the 4th was slain. It didn’t seem very epic and I don’t even recall any discussion of screen shots for first kills.

Fishing Buddy is having a massive issue, but it was the only add on (so far) that caused any problems. Unfortunately, the issue is that you can’t log in with Fishing Buddy active.

I fished while the guild was raiding… I missed my Fishing Buddy.

Remember the flood of sparkle ponies when that mount was released in to the Blizzard store?

That was nothing compared to the absolute avalanche of Tyrael’s Chargers. They are EVERYWHERE.

And they’re rather pretty.

The “wings” don’t flap so much as just flutter about in the breeze, both while on the ground and in the air.

I’m pleased with mine.

Not so pleased that I’m willing to get a screen shot with any of my toons as Alliance… /sigh

But find a shadow priest with one. It’s fucking awesome in shadow form. *Almost* awesome enough for me to consider a shadow spec.

Totally disjointed post today, but that’s the way life goes some times.

I baked a pecan pie for Thanksgiving – with no corn syrup. It turned out pretty good. I even ate some and I don’t normally eat pecan pie.

And you’re not crazy, I redid the banner and layout. Next I might play with the background.

Priest MoP

The preliminary peek at skills and talents for MoP have been revealed. And I just had to get this out before the weekend. (Happy Turkey Day tomorrow!)

Of course, I looked at the mage stuff first.

Polymorph turkey?!?!?!

That might, just might, break my code of being a polymorph sheep purist. Maybe. I think it will amuse me.

For the most part, the mage stuff didn’t strike me as odd. There are a couple OICWUTUDIDTHAR points, but for the most part nothing struck me as weird or crazy. Maybe I’m not looking close enough. Not quite sure how Arcane Missiles will work, but I probably just need to look closer and I’ll beat the mage portion of this topic to death another day. I think I may be holding out to pay more attention after the devs have been yelled at for doing it wrong and have had a chance to tighten up the design a bit.

Now the priesty stuff… there were some items that caught my eye. (You can check out the priest trees here.) Continue reading

/sigh

Alt raid didn’t happen, not enough people online. Looks like I came over at just the right moment – for everyone to get engaged/get married/visit family/play Skyrim/etc.

I think I may actually be a little distressed about the whole server/faction/guild move.

Staying in worgen form all the time on Arioch helps. I can just pretend that his other form is still green-eyed and pointy-eared. I honestly have no idea what his human form looks like. Any time the thought crosses my mind, my brain squeezes its eyes shut, sticks its fingers in its ears and yells, “lalalalalalaICAN’THEARYOUlalalalalala.” Immature, I know, but it’s my brain after all.

Selwynne… not so much. Maybe I should have gone Worgen with him too. I don’t know. I like the /waggle, but I feel like I’m losing touch with him.

I find with all my characters I’m spending more time zoomed out, focusing on cast bars, raid frames, anything other than what my character is doing or looks like. Continue reading

Couple more notches on the old belt

So I’ve been on the Alliance side for a week and half or so now.

I remember where things were before Deathwing blew up Stormwind. I tried running into a doorway that used to lead into the only AH in SW.

WTF? There’s got to be a dozen AHs in SW now, why would they remove this one?

They didn’t of course, just expanded the hell out of it and moved the entrance. Nice little upgrades from standing on crates to personal podiums. Jaxon is moving up in the world, it would seem.

I was planning on this move being… almost casual.

The main raid for this guild is a 25-man raid and they were apparently overloaded on mages and healers. My best bet was to come over and just take it easy in the 10-man alt runs. Which in a way, was a nice setup for me as I prefer the 10-man raiding environment. I had an opportunity to kick back, not worry about being an officer, and just enjoy the end of the raiding season before 4.3 drops.

I did get to run a 10-man on Aríoch.

And then IT happened. Continue reading

What the I don’t even?

So, um, yeah, heard your blood elf mage went Worgen. And your priest… female draenei? What happened? I thought you had a thing for the pointy ears?

I do have a thing for the pointy ears.

But unfortunately, as my time spent on the Bizzarro mage showed, male night elf casting animations are horrific. It was bad enough on a warrior when I only had to watch for the hearthstone animation, but to sentence Arioch to a life of perpetually appearing to have the deuce of a lifetime rumbling in his gut was more than I could stomach.

So how did you end up with Worgen?

Let’s break it down.

The Alliance race choices are human, dwarf, night elf, gnome, draenei, and worgen. Continue reading

Bizzarro WoW: Bizzarro just got Bizzarro-er

There hasn’t been a lot coming from my corner of the world lately and I apologize.

Between work being worse than any rep grind I could imagine and things that may or may not happen in the game it’s been hard to take the time to put thought to “paper” – when I even had a coherent thought that I was willing to put down.

So what was all the crap about the event that may or may not be happening in WoW life anyway?

As I’ve mentioned a time or two before, the guild roster at Darkest Hour has been in flux for quite some time.

Some of it was real life interfering. Some of it was people getting burned out. Some of it was people getting frustrated. Some of it was people that just couldn’t stay the hell out of flame waves.

There were a few conspiratorial whispers amongst the officers about what to do. Continue reading

Well, poop

There was supposed to be a big post today.

I had the framework all ready to go, just needed to wait for a couple things to process, grab some screen shots, and BAM! I could have published.

But the processing went awry even though I followed the same exact procedure I have followed in the past.

So something changed on their end, not mine.

I am a bit peeved at the moment about the whole situation and am awaiting resolution.

So it looks like you will all have to wait until Monday for the bog post. Assuming this actually gets fixed today.

/sigh

A watched ticket is never answered.
