Since raiding has been off the table in any serious capacity for the past couple weeks, what have I been up to in WoW?
With the exception of this past weekend, not much.
I started playing LoL and almost as quickly lost interest.
Watched the first 4 seasons of Venture Bros. Seriously, if you aren’t watching this, you need to start. What are you waiting for? Go watch!
And then two things happened.
Patch 5.4 and the promise of 489 catch-up gear for my alts and 100 free valor (if I can cap on Arioch) each week until this shindig ends (anyone know when it will end?) had me itching to put some serious hours back in to the game.
The second thing was my overwhelming guilt for not keeping up on my cousin’s gaming podcast (check him out over at www.extradamage.com ) finally caught up with me.
I had the perfect opportunity to roam the Barrens, mindlessly slaughtering Kor’kron and escorting caravans, while listening to the MANY hours of podcast I had fallen behind on.
I am sad to say that I’m still not caught up on the podcast (episode 19!) , but I made progress all over the place in WoW on multiple characters. Continue reading
I came to the table late for the new Darkmoon Faire, ignoring it for MONTHS before finally dragging characters through it.
Pretty quickly, I realized it was useful for leveling some professions across the awkward humps and MOUNTS AND PETS WERE THERE, DUHHHHHHH!
Pets and mounts went account-wide and suddenly it was worth going after the tickets.
So a cycle of 4 characters developed, dragging my mage, priest, paladin, and DK through the faire each month.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t doing all that I could be doing (picked up ear quests late, didn’t pursue the dungeon drop quests, and often missed several days) so ticket collection was painfully slow. Add to that the ticket cost of the mounts being 180 and the pets being 90 and it felt like I would never get there.
This past month, Arioch got really close to the 180 mark for the first mount. So I braved the AH and dumped some gold on the dungeon items. Continue reading
I actually had several thoughts, all scrawled on bits of paper which the kitties are oh, so happy to “file” away for me. Important stuff goes in the litter box, right mom?
Some of the thoughts I managed to cram into my rambling spew the other day before they ended up under large pieces of furniture courtesy of kitty paws.
But now I’ve largely lost those thoughts.
Pro Tip: It stings a bit to have Path of Frost active when using the cannon at the Darkmoon Faire.
Oh, but here’s another thought that just fluttered by.
I want the Insane title on Arioch something fierce. But the lockbox portion of it scares me off.
Need a rogue.
I have a rogue rolled on the selection screen but I’ve never logged in to him. Continue reading
“Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way” –E.L. Doctorow
So far I’ve managed to average at least 2k words a day.
Last night it was a bit slower after a rough day of work and I barely squeaked out 1670 words.
And then it was time for WoW.
Got all my cooking up to 600 and started collecting mats for the Master questline. Unfortunately, I was short by one mat for all the recipes I had to cook and was far too tired to do anything about it.
It will just have to wait. Like getting exalted with the Anglers. That should have happened last night, I’m one quest away. Continue reading
Sorry for the odd posting times, just not organized enough to get shit done the night before.
This post doesn’t really have a purpose, just me rambling about current dramatic events.
I got to raid again on Tuesday!
But first, back track to last week, when I also raided on Tuesday.
That raid was not the “normal” Tuesday raid. The “normal” raid was postponed to Friday so that a certain someone, we’ll call him Raid Leader B, could attend.
Note – Raid Leader B is the guy that insists on dragging his wife, Mage M, along to raids even though she can’t DPS her way out of a wet paper bag. Strangely, he has the backing of Officer K, who used to raid lead the more progressive group and normally required that raiders pull their own weight. Continue reading
Taking a quick break from the 20 Days of WoW Blogging Challenge (which really should be called 20 days of FREE CONTENT IDEAS!!) to insert a post that is actually about WoW.
My guild’s second group has altered our raiding schedule. This is the group that I raid in on my priest and used to be Tuesday and Wednesday. Since we’re regularly doing a 1-night clear, Wednesday ends up being open.
Apparently quite a few people in the group are experiencing excessive lag on Tuesdays so we’ve shortened the schedule to just raiding on Wednesday.
Until we’re ready to go “hardcore into heroics”… Continue reading
A Deathwing kill shot!
I’m now 7/8 in 10 and 8/8 in 25.
The “normal” 25, not the LFR 25.
You can barely see me right there in the middle, with the ghoul hanging over me.
Deathwing doesn’t leave much in the way for an impressive kill shot, but the sky went well with all the healing green on the ground. Continue reading
