In a haze

First I had a happy post all written up and ready to go.

Then I had an angry post ready to spew venom across the screen.

Now…

I don’t know what I have.

I have an offer that is tempting.

There are a lot of possibilities in what is being very creatively waved about under my nose.

But it will undoubtedly burn bridges.

I have a lot of thinking to do.

Funny story.

So we’re raiding last night.

And one of the guys in the party hasn’t been through ToCr yet so we were explaining each fight.

And be “we” I mean pretty much just “me.”

We’re at Anub’arak and I’m talking about the phases and the frost spheres and the adds and the burrow and I’m worried, as always, that I’m going to forget something.

And then I get a whisper from my friend (who once was all hot and bothered about a gal in vent from Britain):

try the british accent

I lost it.

OMG, stop whispering me!

I started stumbling over the words and just flat out saying nonsense. Then I couldn’t stop laughing.

I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t finish the explanation and someone else had to.

Earlier in the raid something happened that made me feel hawt.

I’ve been raiding with these guys for a long time now and I was a consistent raider with them before joining the guild. Sort of like a favored PuG status.

There is another caster in there, a boomkin, that used to wipe the walls with me.

I would walk away from a raid and feel like I had been schooled in the harshest way possible.

For a while, gear was part of the problem. I slowly caught up in gear, but his numbers were still better.

Then it was the fact that arcane sucked, so I switched to fire (I still feel ashamed about that) and my numbers started creeping up.

Arcane was given new life (praised be to the developers responsible) and I threw myself into getting the most out of it.

I know I still have some rough spots to polish up, but I’ve been doing my reading and working on fixing my issues.

Last night was one of those nights where everything fell into place for me. Sports players talk about being “in the zone” and it happens with video games as well.

But it still surprised the hell out of me to have this exchange with that boomkin I’ve been doggedly following for months:

Deeps

I’ve got nothing but respect for this guy as a player so this totally made my night. /rawr
