Antidote

So yesterday’s post was a bit angry.

Just a teensy weensy bit.

At various points Sunday evening I was so mad I couldn’t formulate sentences.

On the plus side, I clean when I’m angry so the master bed/bath is sparkling. I was so torqued I even did some dishes.

And I have come to the conclusion that the easiest way for me to get something changed is to rant about it on this blog.

Good things happen when I rant.

It’s a bizarre form of positive reinforcement.

I rant about shitty rolls in raids, I get loot.

I rant about how much I hate playing fire, arcane gets buffed.

I rant about raids on Tuesday sucking for one of my best friends, Tuesday raids get moved to Wednesday starting next month.

Those raids are going to have to start on time and we are going to have to bring our best game on those nights as two of the players are on the East Coast and have to work early the next day. But we should be able to have everyone showing up. There was even a second member of the progression team that also couldn’t show on Tuesdays so he should be able to raid twice a week with us now.

Assuming raids ever get started. Baby steps. I’m counting my victories where I can.

I am actually excited about the prospect of raiding again. Tonight we’re supposed to be doing ToCr, not sure if we’re doing heroic or not yet. Guess we’ll make that call depending on our raid composition.

We talked about what roles we wanted to recruit for and I’ll be posting something on the official forums in the next couple days. Again, if anyone has any pointers on how to recruit classes that I’m not familiar with, please send them my way. And if anyone wants to say, transfer over and give us a shot, let me know.

I’ve been running Brewfest Direbrew kills like I have a personal vendetta against this guy.

Over the weekend I think I was in on 20+ kills. (Guildies willing to swap alts in to get mains a chance at the mount rock my socks.)

No mount drop.

Last night we were doing the alt swap thing. This requires careful planning of who has remotes, who can heal, someone wearing plate, and hopefully a warlock. (Summoning stones can be used for as long as they stay up, even if the warlock leaves the party – kill Coren fast and you can swap out 2-3 people easy.)

7 kills in and still no mount.

8th kill.

Ram drops!

I squeal. Let me say to the guys in vent, sorry about your hearing loss.

The drop rate on this mount is so bad that it counts as a feat of strength to get one.

Of course I roll like crap and it goes to the alt of a certain holy pally.

We almost had some drama in guild the other day over mounts. Thankfully, I wasn’t present for either situation.

There was one person that has come back from a lengthy hiatus and won the ram her first night in BRD. She had been back all of 2 days and we don’t know if she’s here to stay. I may have been a little snarky and asked in guild chat if that meant she would actually stick around long enough to get to use it.

I think it was the very next night that another guildy won a mount. He logged over to an alt to give the party another shot at it. And promptly won the second mount drop on his alt. An alt that all he does on is fly around Northrend and mine.

There were at least 2 achievement whore/collectors in the party. They were crushed to see the mount wasted.

So anyway, 9th kill, mount drops and it goes to this alt.

And I know how this guy felt about the other alt getting the mount. He’s a collector on his pally.

So I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt here that you rolled on your alt to see if it could be traded to me because you know bribery works on me. If that wasn’t the case, please don’t tell me. Let me have these warm fuzzies, it will cause you significantly less pain in the long run.

We’ve got one more alt to switch out. Play the warlock summoning stone game.

Last chance of the evening, kill #9.

Ram drops again!

ZOMG!

I squeal again, but it’s a much quieter, halfhearted squeal.

The loot gods hate me so. (I had just come out of a ToCr 25 Anub kill where I rolled on 2 items. My highest was a 21.)

Roll off…

Hot damn!

I actually won that mother fucker!

Arioch Brewfest Ram front

Arioch Brewfest Ram side

I don’t know why, but the ram has always been one of my favorite mounts. I like the little noises they make, the talbuks were a close second, but I like the shaggy little rams.

Now I’ve got to come up with something else to rant about so it will get fixed.

  3. I got this mount last year, I was kind of hoping for a Kodo this year. I’m not going to farm for it though, I have other things to do.

On a side note, I agree with you about the rams being the best mounts. Being a dwarf, I have … all of them.

Grats on the mount… dunno why, but I have never been a fan of the ram..

Now when Coren starts dropping Mechanostriders, I will farm that mongrel till the Taurens come home!
